WILLIAM C PARKER b. 1817/18 AL. On 10/3/1850, age 33, he
was in Itawamba Co, MS with Evilina (age 33 b. SC) and
children: Marie/Mariah (age 13), Mary (age 8), L.C. (age 6), Amanda M. (age 4) and Monro (age 2)
William C found again on the 6/29/1860 Itawamba Co, MS census at
age 42. Listed with him were Elizabeth (age 23 b. Al), Columbus
(16), Amanda (14), Minerva (11), Lucy C. (10), John (2) and Matilda (3 months). Evilina is not listed in this census, nor were Marie/Mariah or Mary.
I believe I have located William C. PARKER on the 1840 Lawrence,
Al census. One male age 20-30, two females age 0-5 and one
female age 20-30. Due to this census, I believe there was perhaps another daughter born between Marie/Mariah and Mary.
Could William C. have married twice? 1st to Evilina then to Elizabeth? Was Marie/Mariah's (?) name actually Marie/Mariah Elizabeth? If so, did Evilina die before this 1860 census was taken, leaving daug Marie/Mariah [Elizabeth (?)] to keep house? Or did William C. marry 2nd to Elizabeth?
According to Itawamba, MS Marriages, Births, Christenings and Deaths (Microfilm # M516941, Batch 1472) there was a William C. PARKER married to Elizabeth SHIELDS on 8/13/1856. Was this my William C. ? At this point I believe that he was in fact married twice.
With all these unanswered questions, the following are the known
children of William C. Parker (not including Marie/Mariah and Mary): L.C. Columbus Parker (b. 1844 MS) Amanda M. Parker (b. 1846 MS) William Monroe Parker (b. 10/11/1848 Itawamba, MS d. 6/20/1904 Annona, Red River, TX) Minerva Parker (b. 1849 MS)
Lucy C. Parker (b. 1850 Itawamba, MS) John Parker (b. 1858 Itawamba, MS) Matilda Parker (b. July 1859 Itawamba, MS)
I have all the info for son William Monroe PARKER. But am in desparate need of more information. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Kay Woods
