Seeking info on AUGUSTA COUNCIL m. c1889 VA to Harry Filmore Whitmer. She is buried at Bacon's Castle, Surry Co, VA. Her parents were John Council and Sarah Gwaltney. Thanks for any help you can give me. kathy machen

Am looking for the parents/siblings of MARY COUNCIL-Yarnell-Cox b. 1819 MO m. Henry Cox Cedar Co, MO. At the time of their marriage, Mary had 2 children living with her. I need proof that the Priscilla m. John Johnson c1805 poss Bladen Co, NC, had the surname, Council. Some descendants did have the given name, Council. John Johnson and his wife moved to Wilkinson Co, GA where they were living in 1840, then in Tattnall Co, GA. Priscilla might have been d/o Dudley Council & Elizabeth Knight of NC. We feel that this family may tie into the Council family as the Council name shows up in the naming of their children. Moses Oppenheim m. shortly after 1900 Cassie Dyess b. Feb 1873 and was living in Statenville, Echols Co, GA in 1900. After marriage this couple moved to PA. Cassie's family lived in the area of very south GA and very north FL. Their son Arlie COUNCIL Oppenheim died in Royersfield, PA. Cassie's son COUNCIL Bruxton Thompson died in NJ. It is believed that Moses and Cassie moved to FL in their later years, opened a nursing home, and lived there until they died. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Faye Dyess

Searching for information on Robert Council born 1768 Isle of Wight County Va. He married Rebecca Weathers. Its not really this Robert I have a problem with, its that it is said that his father is Robert Council b about 1700, so of John Council and Josie Willis. Thats 68 years difference so I am thinking there is a missing generation. Anyone with any information? Theresa "Council" Longley
